Seems like only yesterday that I was blogging wishing you a wonderful weekend and suggesting choice places to go and unwind during the weekend. It is time to let go of the past, the week is already past and is in now part of your History.

And here is a little something to motivate you towards, ‘letting it go’.

Beautiful, right? For those of you with little princesses, might I suggest that you enjoy your Saturday or Sunday afternoon watching Frozen? Its worth giving a try.

Let’s take a peek at what is going down this weekend, shall we? Let the Jahazi Urban Soul, kick it off for us, so what exactly is it?

JAHAZI-Final-posterThe Jahazi: Urban Afro Soul is an event that will be held at the Michael Joseph Centre, courtesy of Safaricom. It will feature an ensemble of fresh urban afro soul sound such as Lele Ngoma (an eclectic band popular at poetry events) and Spotlight on Kenyan music finalist, Fadhilee.

The Children Sickle Cell Anaemia foundation will also be using the event to create awareness on the disease that has for long been taken as a paedriatic disease with the hope of starting a conversation on it as well.

Bitings and drinks will be served and the hosts promise secure parking for their fans and other live music enthusiasts.

sarabi-at-allianceKeeping up with the musical theme, next in line is Kings of The Arena: Sarabi who are all set to re-introduce themselves to their fans at Alliance Francaise on February 28th

Sarabi will do a series of twelve concerts in twelve months, which will come with lots of surprises, at Alliance Francaise’s garden. They will be collaborating with an independent artist for every event. They are all set to collaborate with Tear Drops; a winner of the Poetry Slam Africa title, this Friday. Catch Sarabi from 7:00 p.m. to11:00 p.m. Tickets will be  going for Kshs.500 in advance and Kshs.800 at the gate.

The event has been put together by Tre-Ba, Alternative Agency and Vocal. Hosted by Alliance Francaise.

Cine-jeunesseParents, here is a chance to have your little one learn a foreign language and not just any language, but the language of Love .Alliance Française offers special screenings for young audiences which feature a variety of Francophone films including animation, live action and classics. Ciné Jeunesse shows happen every first Saturday of the month at 10.00 a.m. at the Alliance Française auditorium. For more info, contact +254 20 340 054

Remember that there is no better time to learn a foreign language than at a young age. The simple reason behind this is that a child’s brain is easily malleable and is capable of absorbing and grasping more information than that of an adult, so to all parents with young children, there is no time like the present.

deceptionEver been mistaken for somebody else? Whereas  in real life a case of mistaken Identity may be a traumatizing scenario to face, in art the outcome is almost always a hilarious mix that is sure to leave you with acing sides.

Deception is a comedy thriller which is an original script by FCA directed by Mbeki Mwalimu and produced by Abuto Eliud. From this comedy situations arise of mistaken identities that result in an unexpected tragic end. And from it, are key life lessons to be learned.

Be sure to make your way to Alliance Francaise this weekend, from Friday to Sunday and get yourself just what the doctor ordered. Friday’s shows will be staged at 6:00 p.m and 8:00 p.m, while Saturday’s and Sunday’s show will be staged at 3:00, 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.

Tickets are retailing for Kshs. 500.
