Strut It Afrika Fashion Week – 2013strut it Afrika

Strut It Afrika Fashion Week is a platform that aims at highlighting our rich culture through celebrating African Heritage by bringing together FASHION, ART & DANCE. Their goal is to create a Regional Fashion Week, an event that incorporates the region by promoting talent and bringing together the vast different cultures in one arena.

22 designers from Africa will feature their designs in this event. There will also be visual Art and Crafts curated by the National Museum of Kenya, Dance routines by Sarakasi Dance Group among many other activities in the list of events

Strut It Afrika Fashion Week is positioned to become the “World Cup of Fashion” in the African continent.

So go and witness the making of the ‘World Cup of Fashion’ from the 28th of September to the 5th of October at the Safari Park Hotel from 8:00 p.m. till a minute to Midnight. Three For The Road

three-for-the-roadThe Japan Information and Culture Centre will be screening Three For The Road a movie about a man (Yaji) who has lost his wife and son to an epidemic and now lives alone in a ramshackle row house, eking out a living sculpting fancy pastries.

Find out the twists and turns Yaji’s life takes when you add to the mix a popular local courtesan looking to escape the life she leads, a second-rate actor who has lost the will to live on the 28th of September at the Japan Embassy from 2:00 p.m. gates will be opened at 1:30 p.m.

Literature Forumgoethe-book-club

For those of you that are more interested in the  intellectual stuff then Goethe Institut Library has seen to it that you are not left out of this weekend’s mix by hosting a Literature Forum. A lot of reading and discussions will be taking place at the forenamed venue on the 28th of September from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and the entrance fee?…well that is free as the joy and inspiration that forum will provide.
